Here is What Humboldt is Doing for New Year's Eve

Goodbye, 2014.

Of course the Arcata Plaza will be Humboldt’s NYE epicenter. The bars will be packed. McKinley will be protected. Merriment will reign. But in addition to bar row, Arcata will also host some grade-A local live music — Absynth Quintet at ATL and Motherlode at HumBrews — and some whompy EDM selections — Bleep Bloop at the Portuguese Hall and a special Whomp Whomp Wednesday at Jambalaya. Also of note: Check out the Cirque Du New Year’s Eve benefit at RampArt, which features aerialists, fire breathers and burlesque.

The easy Eureka choice for Dec. 31 is The Palm Lounge. You might just want to get a room at the Eureka Inn where there are four bands on the otherwise free Retro Rock-N-Roll New Year's bill — most notably The Monster Women who promise a set of all Go Go’s and Blondie songs.

Asses will shake in 2015 out in Blue Lake: Pressure/Anya are holding it down in Blue Lake Casino’s Sapphire Palace while regular Soul Night DJs Matt ’n’ Adam will spin in the Logger Bar.
