Thursday Lowdown: Inked Hearts Tattoo Show Kicks Off; Black Star Safari at The Jam

If you just can’t stomach one more presidential debate, note that Humboldt inches toward the weekend with a respectable Thursday night lineup. Highlights to be ingested by responsible Lowdown scrollers include the annual return of Blue Lake Casino’s Inked Hearts Tattoo Show which kicks off weekend long proceedings tonight — show up if you hope for coveted appointments with pro tattooers. The full Inked Hearts schedule can be found on the event website.

Two of Humboldt’s most positive, inclusive-vibe furthering recurring community events return in the forms of Ocean Night and A Reason to Listen’s Humboldt Poetry Slam being held at the Arcata Theatre Lounge and The Siren’s Song Tavern, respectively.

Finally, we have band. Sac-town rock duo Black Star Safari will fill The Jam in Arcata with energy and confidence. Check out what they bring to Earth in the YouTube clip below. —AG
