Trash is Bad, Humboldt! Let’s Play with Trash!

As we’ve discussed to death previously on LoCO, seemingly numerous Humboldt beach goers seem to be confused that the coastline is not a trash can. Often, where beauty surrounds, junk abounds.

The latest effort to raise yuck awareness comes to us courtesy the (Re)Debris project. Over the next month, anti-litter warriors will meet semi-weekly at SCRAP Humboldt in an attempt to put beach trash to creative use, namely to build a creature negatively affected by the plastics and detritus that plague our coastal pretty spots. The effort is modeled on the successful Washed Ashore project — familiarize yourself with their efforts by watching the YouTube clip below.
