Lowdown: Light Up For Lost Loved Ones

The holiday season can be one of the roughest times of year for people who've experienced loss in their life. Seriously, why do we even do this?

Well, Hospice of Humboldt will attempt to ease your burdens at their annual Light Up a Life remembrance ceremony Wednesday at the Wharfinger Building. The event is for those who may feel an urge to honor loved ones who've passed on in a room full of people who've experienced similar loss -- the "light up" refers to the candles that will be symbolically lit. The vocal militia that is the Arcata Interfaith Gospel Choir will be on hand to add umph to the event. Go get a hug if you need it.

Other Wednesday options -- including two should-be-lively, actual-live-music gigs in Old Town -- in your Lowdown below.
