LOWDOWN: Fortuna Rodeo Week Starts Today

Fortuna is awake and ready for its annual "yeehaw!" For the next seven days, the “friendly city” will be just a bit friendlier as it comes together for a week of festivities to celebrate the return of the annual Fortuna Rodeo. Let your Lowdown give you a quick rundown of all events in store this week (click any day for a complete schedule of that day’s events):

Monday: Burn your tongue out of your mouth at the annual Chili Cookoff on Main Street.
Tuesday: Exhaust your children during the Children’s Game Night at the Redwood Village Shopping Center.
Wednesday: The carnival opens in Rohner Park and remains for the remainder of the week. Plus, more child occupying games and Junior Rodeo.
Thursday: Hopefully, nothing catches fire in Fortuna Thursday, our local heroes will be occupied with the annual Fireman’s Games.
Friday: Motorsports Night features ATV and Rhino racing and, of course, the wow,-someone-thought-of-that spectacle that is Quadiators.
Saturday: With the weekend comes the actual rodeo part of the Fortuna Rodeo, but there’s also a parade and the Bulls, Bands and Brews shindig at the rodeo grounds.
Sunday: More rodeo, plus the annual gut-busting barbecue.
