Monday Lowdown: It’s Chronic Comedy Week, Apparently!

This week was already scheduled to be many things — as we’ve noted, it’s National Park Week and Humboldt Green Week. What else can we pack in? Oh. The fools at Savage Henry wanted in on this great week, too, and decided to schedule Chronic Comedy Week (do you smell a 4/20 tie-in? Sure).

Thus, here is a rundown of five nights of standup comedy-ish gatherings you can attend if you are not exhausted from your free national park trip:

MONDAY - Flophouse Monday at The Siren’s Song Tavern: Sylvan Productions Stand-Up Showcase. Featuring the comedians from Viceland’s new show Flophouse and local legends. Headlined by Keith D’Souza. 9 p.m. $5.
TUESDAY - No, You’re Drunk! Spelling Beer! Ghost Roast! at The Jam: Three hilarious comedy shows, featuring drinkers, scholars and dead people with audience participation and prizes for the weiners. 9 p.m. 21+.
WEDNESDAY - Chronic Comedy Week: Game Night at Arcata Theatre Lounge: A night of learning, wingin’ it and games with audience participation (need a smartphone) with prizes. 9 p.m. $1. 21+.
THURSDAY - Chronic Comedy Week: Brooks Wheelan at Humboldt Brews: From SNL, Conan, Comedy Central and more, Brooks Wheelan. Also performing Cornell Reid, Karl Hess, Dutch Savage, Matt Redbeard, Ivy Vasquez, Evan Vest, Hosted by Kim Hodges. Followed by A DJ Set of Stoner Funk by Dr. Foxmeat! 9 p.m. 21+. $18/$15 adv.
FRIDAY - Chronic Comedy Week: Spliff Tracks at Richard’s Goat Tavern: Matt Redbeard’s movie riffing show featuring local comedians watching a horrible movie and making fun of it. 10 p.m. $5. 21+.
