SUNDAY LOWDOWN: It's Juneteenth and Humboldt is Celebrating

Sunday is Juneteenth, which marks the day in 1865 when a portion of America's enslaved peoples learned that they'd been freed.

To celebrate the occasion, Humboldt will gather on the Arcata Plaza, starting at noon, for an all-day event featuring "live music, speakers, BIPOC vendors, art, performances, food, a wine garden, a kids zone and more." Later in the evening, the PIXAR film Soul will be screened under the Creamery District's big tent. Consider joining with your community this day.
