45th Summer Arts & Music Festival

The Mateel Community Center, a non profit organization, is proud to announce the 45th Summer Arts & Music Festival!

This beloved community tradition has been a mainstay of Southern Humboldt community culture for over four decades. North Coast Journal readers voted Summer Arts “Best Music Festival 2020”, because this family-friendly event provides: a gathering space to enjoy local, regional and national live music and performing artists at various stages, a fun-filled kids zone, over 50 international foods, fine arts, unique artisan crafts- its a complete arts village situated along the Eel River with a redwood SoHum backdrop.

The Mateel staff and board of directors are pleased to announce that the festival has a new home for June 2022, seven miles south of the Benbow location along a lovely stretch of the south fork of the Eel river, located to the east of highway 101 in Cooks Valley, known as County Line Ranch.

The County Line Ranch property is largely flat, partially wooded with ample space for both the event and for onsite vehicle parking. This provides daily in and out options and access to vehicles for the general public which is a huge improvement for us all. This spacious property allows for a more generous fairway layout for vendors, performers and attendees, another great upgrade for these beautiful people that make up the festival experience. We will produce the same event that you already love, but better; as we now have the ability to spread out!

This spectacular new space keeps you cool with access to the most lovely stretch of the south fork of the Eel River, and also keeps you hot with the music going later into the night! If you have an interest in volunteering, please refer to our website here at: www.mateel.org/volunteers
