A psychotic drifter crosses paths with socialite Helen Brent, who is attracted by his brash confidence, square-shouldered good looks and constant aura of menace. Their mutual attraction smolders even after he marries Helen’s wealthy foster sister, and he soon realizes that Helen’s ruthlessness is at least equal to his own.
