Steel Standing is a 10-piece powerhouse steel band fusing traditional panorama tunes with percussive elements of funk, hip-hop, reggae, salsa, rock and Brazilian.
The band was created in 2011 by a powerful collection of Humboldt State Calypso Band alumni. They are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the music while still representing the magic and complexity of the steel pan and it's roots in Trinidad and Tobago.
Steel Standing's versatility fits the bill of any gig ranging from bars, weddings, festivals and parties. Their live show focuses on heavy groove and high energy. It's an undeniable dance party guaranteed to turn any crowd into a complete get down!
