Rose Pruning Demonstration
The Humboldt Rose Society does a series of Rose Pruning and Q&A sessions annually at local garden stores, the Humboldt Botanical Gardens, and Redwood Acres Fairgrounds Rose Garden.
This is the schedule for this year:
The HRS pruning schedule (all starting at 10:00 am):
January 11 – Schafer’s Ace in Eureka
January 18 – Pierson’s Garden Center in Eureka
January 25 – Schafer’s Ace in Fortuna
February 1 – Humboldt Botanical Gardens
February 8 – Redwood Acres Garden
February 15 – Miller Farms in Mckinleyville
The public is welcome to all of these sessions, there may be a fee for Humboldt Botanical Gardens (HGB). Both the HGB session and the Redwood Acres session are hands on, guided by the HRS consulting Rosarians, where attendees actually prune all of the roses in both gardens – so attendees should bring their own pruners.
