Mushrooms in Their Environment: an Ecologically-Focused Foray
Humboldt-raised mycologist Willoughby Arevalo will lead “Mushrooms in their Environment: an Ecologically-Focused Foray.” In this walk, in one of Willoughby’s favorite foraging spots (to be disclosed to registrants), participants will observe the fungi present and explore their relationships to the world around them. While learning their names, identifying features, ethical harvesting techniques, cultivation potential, and uses for medicine, food, craft and more, participants will also come to understand the roles they play in symbiosis, succession and regeneration. Cost is $20 to $60, sliding scale.
