Healthy Aging Classes
Humboldt Light Opera Company (HLOC) is excited to announce a new series of healthy aging classes in their Live Life Program, beginning the week of October 21 at The SPACE, 92 Sunny Brae Center Arcata. This program was launched at the start of this year and has been met with great success! Designed for older adults, the classes help increase independence, stimulate the brain-body connection, and gain confidence in movement, balance, and flexibility - all in a fun and socially engaging environment.
Classes offered:
- The Language Of Music with Larry Pitts - learn basics of musical notation, Mondays at 1 p.m.;
- Making the Most of Your Third Act with Tracey Barnes Priestley - tools for positive attitude and creativity, Tuesdays at 10:30-11:45 a.m.;
- Activate Your Voice with Julie Eccles-Benson - improve speaking voice, Tuesdays at 12 p.m.;
- Just Sing! with Carol Ryder - group voice lesson, Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.;
- On the Move - Walking with Confidence with Carl McGahan, Thursdays at 10 a.m.;
- Come Meet Your Body - improve mobility with Carl McGahan, Thursdays at 11:15 a.m.;
- Beginner Line Dancing with Tom Schrader - exercise body and brain, Thursdays at 1:30 p.m.;
- Take the Fear out of Writing with James Donzela - get your story ready for submission, Saturdays at 10 a.m.
