This morning Cliff spoke with Chris Builing of the National Weather Service office on Woodley Island about the large amount of rain we have had over the past few days and the likelihood of the Eel River at Fernbridge to flood. The latest prediction shows the Eel River at Fernbridge reaching flood stage by this afternoon, around 3pm. However, highway 211 is generally not impacted unless the river gets past 23 feet, or 3 feet above flood stage. That will happen by 3am on Wednesday Morning. The river is expected to crest at 24.7 feet by 11am Wednesday morning and not expected to go below 23 feet until 10pm Wednesday. If all goes acording to prediction, the river will drop below flood stage by 5am Friday morning.
