KHUM wants to see your community pride!
Humboldt County is famous around the world and now we are giving you the chance to tell the world what you love about Humboldt.
The Humboldt Film Commission has partnered with KHUM in looking for public displays of community pride through the “I Love Humboldt” 30-second video contest.
The best video will win $300 and a Flip camera! Anyone can enter.
All submissions must answer one of two questions: “Why do you love Humboldt?” or “What I love best about Humboldt is.” Entries should be creative and convey your passion for Humboldt.
If you are looking for the perfect set to stage your mock newscast the KAEF TV studio in Eureka is available for free by appointment. All entries will be posted for voting at KHUM.com starting Monday, February 8th.
The top five videos, as determined by the popular vote, will go on to the final competition, to be held at the Arcata Theatre Lounge on Saturday, February 13th. The top five finalists will be announced live during Mike Dronker’s show on Friday, February 12th.

PRIZES:
Best Video Overall: $300 and a Flip camera,
Best Anchor Interview: $100 fo
Best on-location interview!: $100
The two remaining finalists will receive delicious locally produced products.
All finalists will receive an autographed copy of the new Locally Delicious Cookbook. To submit your video, upload it to Youtube and email the link to mike@khum.com. No other method of submission will be accepted. ________________________________________________________________________
OFFICIAL RULES AND CONTEST DETAILS

*** All videos must be received by Tuesday, February 9th at midnight via email to mike@khum.com.
VOTING PROCESS: Vote for your favorite video at KHUM.com from Monday, Feb. 10h through Friday, February 12th at 2 pm. Each person may vote only once, and KHUM reserves the right to disqualify any entrant we feel has manipulated the vote in any way.
Videos can be no longer than :33 seconds.
The top five videos, as determined by the popular vote, will go on to the final competition, to be held at the Arcata Theatre Lounge on Saturday, February 13th. The top five finalists will be announced live during Mike Dronkers' show on Friday, February 12th.
The top five videos will then be reviewed by a panel of judges selected by the Humboldt Film Commission. Three will receive cash prizes.
Categories include: $300 for the overall best video, $100 for the best anchor interview and $100 for best on-location interview. Need not be present to win. By entering your video submission into the “I Love Humboldt” Video Contest you agree to the following rules:
1. KHUM and the Humboldt Film Commission reserve the right to use your video on their web sites and through Facebook and other social media sites in perpetuity.
2. You will not receive any financial compensation for your video.
3. The people in your video have given their written permission to be filmed and presented in your public video.
4. Any minors in your video have written permission from their parents or legal guardians approving their participation.
5. Your video cannot contain profanity, glorification or insinuation of illegal activities including recreational drug use, or violence of any kind.
6. We reserve the right to refuse to post videos we do not deem appropriate.
7. All videos become the property of KHUM and the Humboldt Film Commission and will not be returned.
