Youth Alive! MLK Media Workshop and Dinner
The Mateel Community Center and Southern Humboldt Family Resource Center present the 3rd Annual Youth Alive! MLK Media Workshop & Community Dinner YA! Digital Storytelling Workshop for ages 12-18 & Community Dinner This community event celebrates the work of the Civil Rights movement and benefits local youth. Enjoy a small meal from 5 to 6p.m., followed by a feature film presentation. In memory and acknowledgment of heavyweight title boxer and civil rights fighter Muhammed Ali, there will be a screening of Michael Mann’s 2001 production Ali, starring Will Smith. Free hot meal will be served prior to the screening. Discussion will follow for youth interested in participating in Youth Alive! Los Media Poets digital filmmaking workshops throughout the Spring.
