Volunteer Trail Workday at the McKay Community Forest
Join the Volunteer Trail Stewards for a fun day of trail work at the McKay Community Forest on Saturday, July 1st from 9 a.m. - noon.
There are plenty of tools & tasks for all as we work our way to complete the final stretch of the ADA-accessible Huckleberry Trail! Volunteers are integral for these trails to exist and are so very appreciated! We are building something for all that's meant to last. So why not join us for a morning to get outside, connect with other trail users, and enjoy a free lunch!
Meet at Redwood Fields on Fern St. (off Walnut Drive) in Cutten, at the storage container adjacent to the main parking lot (see map).
* Volunteers should wear appropriate work clothing, boots and bring a small day pack for carrying food and water as the varying project locations will require hiking to access (.5 mi to 2 mi generally).
* Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 10 mins early so that enough tools and food can be made available to all.
* All new volunteers will be required to sign a one-time liability release form that will cover all subsequent workdays.
* All tools, gloves, trail and safe working techniques training will be provided by the county and VTS.
🌿 Happy Trails!
