A Portuguese expression translated as "I'm in the wave". TôNaOnda is a percussive force representing traditional and contemporary samba arrangements from Bahia and Rio de Janeiro. This powerhouse crew puts on a captivating show from beginning to end - no one can resist the urge to get down.

SAMBA NA CHUVA
(Samba in the rain) These ladies perform various styles such as Samba no Pé, Samba Reggae, Maracatu and Axé. Members of Samba na Chuva have completed years of dance instruction with Brazilian teachers in the US and Brazil. In the past year, Samba na Chuva has added percussion to their skill set creating Humboldt County's first all female Brazilian music percussion group. They play music from Rio and Bahia plus the original compositions of Marcus Santos.

STEEL STANDING
A ten-piece steel pan ensemble playing everything from traditional panoramas to creative modern arrangements. They draw from an eclectic mix of influences ranging from funk, reggae, salsa, ska, samba, hip-hop, and 80's music! This high energy ensemble will enthrall you with their unique powerful sound and hip arrangements.
