The Wonders of Arctic Shorebirds

Join the Redwood Region Audubon Society on for a presentation entitled “The Wonders of Arctic Shorebirds: A Look into Breeding Ecology and Changing Ecosystems” by Aaron Gottesman, HSU Wildlife graduate student. Alaska is the summer home to millions of breeding shorebirds, and the array of species exhibit incredibly diverse life histories. Despite population declines, the huge numbers of breeding shorebirds in the Arctic coastal plain of Alaska make them ideal subjects for investigating impacts of environmental change. Aaron Gottesman will share his experience working in Alaska conducting shorebird biology and climate change research. He will highlight the wonders of shorebird breeding ecology and the potential implications of climate change to these populations.
