The Silver Ring Thing Speaking to teens honestly about Gods plan for sex. Sex, its an incredibly vibrant and important part of what it means to be human. What does God have to say about it? The Pregnancy Care Center of the North Coast and JRophe Medical are hosting the nationally known christian organization called The Silver Ring Thing.They have the answers. Starting in 1995 The Silver Ring Things vision has been to“inspire ,educate and support young people to embrace a lifestyle of christ center sexual abstinence until marriage.” This is done through a two hour live event that incorporates high energy music, videos, skits, special affects and comedy delivered in a concert style approach that speaks to youth in a relevant way. High School student ages 14-18 and parents are invited to attend this event Friday, May 9th at 7pm at the Arcata Community Center. Cindy Van, director of the Pregnancy Care Center of the North Coast said, “In working with young people, we’ve learned that there is no such thing as causal sex. With nearly 50% of sexually active teens having an STDs there are huge risks. Choosing to save sex is very liberating and allows kids to be kids without all the drama.” “We consider it a privilege to sponsor this event as we invest in the lives of our local young people.” Van said Event tickets are $6 dollars in advance and $8 at the door.
