The Local Beer Bar's Final Farewell
After 5 amazing beer filled years we are excited and saddened to announce that we will be closing down The Local Beer Bar permanently on December 31st of this year! Saddened because it was my first business and a start to a new chapter of my life but excited because new chapters are taking off and because we have new plans for the space... I started the bar to follow my passion for craft beer and to fill a void in the Humboldt County beer scene. Over the years we have introduced thousands of new beers and hundreds of new breweries to Humboldt County. We have been lucky enough to watch other bars and distributors in the area follow suit and bring amazing craft beer to almost every bar, restaurant, and grocery store. Beers we used to drive 15 or more hours to pick up are now available at your local gas station (which is fantastic !) The world of craft beer is an amazing community to be apart of and we are forever grateful to the customers, brewers, breweries, distributors and sales people we have met along the way. With so many options for beer now we feel it is time to push things forward and pursue our other passion! As many of you know my wife and I are co owners of Humboldt Cider Company. The last couple years we have been immersed in the wonderful world of cider making. Our small little side projecyt has turned into a full time job. We started making 3 single varietal ciders 2 years ago to currently making around 30 different styles! So with that, now the exciting part! We are excited to announce that we will be switching over the beer bar to a 2nd Taproom for Humboldt Cider Co! We will be open 7 days a week with 15-20 of our ciders on tap along with guest taps, beer, wine, kombucha, cider to go and food! Keep your eyes peeled for an opening date. Until then The Local Beer Bar will be hosting all sorts of deals on Merchandise, bottles, and beers on tap for the rest of the month starting on the 10th at the holiday party you are all invited to!
