Tavern 1888 Grand Opening

The Historic Eagle House located at 139 2nd Street in Old Town Eureka, CA is excited to announce the Grand Opening of Tavern 1888. The press and public are invited to attend on Friday, October 14th from 5:30pm to 10pm. A ribbon cutting ceremony starts off the celebration at 5:30pm, followed by live music from Canary and the Vamp and DJ Marjo Lak in the grand theater ballroom.

Located at the corner of 2nd and C Streets, Tavern 1888 is the newly renovated restaurant in the Historic Eagle House. Throughout much of the twentieth century, this cornerstone space was occupied by the most popular social gathering place in Old Town Eureka, the Buon Gusto Restaurant and Tavern and we think it is high time for a revival. Wanting to provide a modern dining experience in a time honored space, owners Jenny & Tim Metz and Rebecca & Tammy Rex are eager to share Tavern 1888 with the local community and the many travelers coming to the area. After thirteen months of renovations and the hiring of a full restaurant staff, including Executive Chef John Ruddick, Tavern 1888is ready to wow you!

Tavern 1888 will be serving up Elevated Coastal Cuisine showcasing Seasonal House-made fare from Humboldt County’s land, sea and air, Craft Cocktails and mocktails, West Coast Wines curated by local sommelier, Erin Young, and Humboldt County Brews. Reservations can be made for all future dates by calling 707-444-1313 and leaving a message for a call-back confirmation.

Guests wishing to dine with us during the celebration should call to reserve now as both Tavern 1888 and Phatsy Kline’s will be open to celebrate with limited availability.
