Supermule
The Arcata Playhouse hosts the return of the five piece bluegrass, soul/funk highbred, Supermule. This super group of superbly talented musicians play a bluegrass-inflected mix of catchy originals and great covers from artists as diverse as Bill Withers and Bill Monroe. The San Francisco Chronicle calls them “much more than a great bluegrass outfit” and the California Bluegrass Association (CBA) praises their “tasty blend of fresh, rootsy ingredients. Liberal amounts of jazz, bluegrass, classical, and rock are used in varying proportions.” Their debut album, Northern White Clouds, has a “groovy country sound,” according to the East Bay Express. With traditional roots and revolutionary zeal, Supermule makes music that keeps on kicking!
