Starving Weirdos Record Release Party
Mythical Humboldt County experimental duo Starving Weirdos reappear seemingly out of nowhere in celebration of their new LP Atheistsaregods- out August 18th on Discrepant. Joined by label mates LAGOSS, with experimental tropicalia all the way from the Canary Islands!
Starving Weirdos have amassed a mind altering body of work from warm soundscapes through droney digressions, freeform improvisation and raucous noise summoned from a myriad of instrumentation, on labels such as Root Strata, Digitalis, Weird Forest, and Blackest Rainbow. This is their first release in over a decade.
LAGOSS is a trio consisting of label head Gonçalo F. Cardoso, alongside Mladen Kurajica and Daniel García. Moving away from their previous 'megamix vignette' based work, the trio now experiments with a more song based approach whilst still keeping their trademark jam infused tropicalia and electronic freak outs with an offering to their 1970’s sci-fi masters.
Bar opens at 6pm. Music at 9pm. $10 cover. 21 & up.
