Soft Reigns Feral Feral
Dance, Performance Art, Mayhem, Dance Party! After four months in development with the Berkeley Finnish Hall Artists in Residence Program, “Soft Reigns Feral Feral” will come to Synapsis in Eureka for Arts Alive, March 7th. The performance melds human and animal forms and whirls between history and fantasy. With bodies more or less civilized, Leslie Castellano and Kevin Dockery investigate the potential for momentary feralization of human identity through dance, words, and shifting states; using ritual, high court, childhood escapades, and the confrontation of environmental destruction, while the self struggles as global consumer. The audience is invited to play along: bring a stuffed animal as additional prop and you will receive a $5 discount on the show. (Don’t worry, all animals will be returned to their owners unscathed at the end of the evening.)
