Science on Tap
Join us for the monthly installment of Science on Tap from our friends at Eel River Watershed Improvement Group! From E.R.W.I.G.:
This month, we are excited to bring you two experts in the field of restoration. Join us as Wes Smith presents his intriguing topic, "If a tree falls in the creek and no one is listening, does it make an impact?" Wes will explore old-growth redwood log jams and large wood restoration. Additionally, Sam Flanagan will discuss "Culverts = Problems: Floods, Failures and Fixes," shedding light on the challenges and solutions related to culvert management.
Our event kicks off at 6 pm! Arrive early to secure a prime spot, keep cool with a refreshing beverage from Mad River Brewery and fill your belly with food from our local food trucks. Following the talks, we will raffle some Patagonia gear! Raffle tickets start at $2 each or 3 for $5. See you there!

The patio cover remains off so make sure to bring what you need to be cool and comfortable π. We encourage bringing a hat, sunglasses and maybe even some sunscreen as beautiful Blue Lake can be very sunny this time of year. It is also great to carpool, if possible, as parking can be limited at times π
πScience on Tap fosters collaboration among local advocates for natural resources. Let's create a platform for sharing ideas and inspire resilience in environmental restoration for generations to come. Join us in building an inclusive space that welcomes everyone into the environmental community, making knowledge accessible and enjoyable for all in a laid-back and fun setting. See you there!
