Raise the Roof: Tales of Old Town

Come enjoy a memorable evening of live music, dinner, cocktails, and more -- a fundraiser for the Humboldt County Historical Society roof fund. Hear about old town’s infamous nightlife from the 1860s to 1930s – when Old Town was home to 65 saloons and 32 brothels—including stories from longtime Eurekans Evo Fanucchi, Laurie Lazio, and Bill Williams and a presentation from Dr. Alex Service. Claire Bent will sing the 1940s bluesy, jazzy tunes once sung by Margaret "Muzzy" Paul , operator of the famed Glo Room in the Monte Carlo Hotel. Proceeds will benefit a new roof for the historic Barnum House, home of the Humboldt County Historical Society and repository of over 65,000 historical photographs, 200 historical maps, extensive biographical materials, a research library, and much more. Tickets can be purchased at the Humboldt County Historical Society, 703 8th St Eureka, or by calling the Society at 445-4342. Seating is limited
