Public Forum: Accountability for Police Violence

Join the Center for Excellence in Public Debating for an open discussion with the University Police Chief Donn Peterson about police violence and accountability in out community. How do you feel about UPD and what would you ask the chief of police? The CEPD is hosting this open event Wednesday November 16, 7-9 pm in Goodwin Forum. We are looking forward to hosting Chief Peterson for a vigorous discussion. This conversation is meant to be engaging and shed light on new perspectives. There will be space for audience questions. This is the second installment of civic engagement hosted by the CEPD following the first public debate hosting in the HSU quad that generated a vigorous conversation regarding "refusing to stand for the national anthem is an effective tactic for civil rights." This upcoming event will further community involvement by encouraging open and engaged critical thinking between the Humboldt audience and the Chief of Police.
