Plays in the Park Auditions
Announcing auditions for William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night, or What You Will", and "The Unprincess", produced by Skyclad Theater's Plays in the Park, in partnership with the City of Arcata Recreation Division. Auditions are held at the Redwood Lounge in Redwood Park, Arcata. Dates and times are Saturday, March 21 at 1 pm, and Sunday, March 22 at 5 pm. The auditions consist of readings from the scripts and some theater games. Prepared monologues are not required. Both shows run concurrently in rep from Friday, August 7 - Sunday, September 6, with "Twelfth Night" running Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 pm, and "The Unprincess" running Sunday matinees at 2 pm. All performances are in Redwood Park, Arcata. Rehearsals begin in June. “Twelfth Night, or What You Will”, directed by David Hamilton, is one of the Bard’s most famous comedies. Shipwrecks, missing twins, mistaken identities, action, romance, and plenty of laughter and song, this one has it all. There are roles for (7) seven men and (5) five women of all ages. "The Unprincess", directed by Megan Johnson, is an action-packed and lively comedy about the power of standing up for yourself and others against the powers that be. Full of physical humor and a cast of colorful characters, this show has something for the whole family. There are 16-20 roles available for actors of every age.
