Nature Journaling at the Arcata Marsh

Naturalist Lynn Jones will lead this session. Limited to first 10 participants who show up at Interpretive Center. Bring paper and a writing implement to jot notes. A pad to sit on or folding chair is optional, as are binoculars. Wear weather-appropriate clothing. The goal is to sit quietly in one spot in the Marsh, making formal and informal observations of natural surroundings, on a small or large scale. Participants will write and/or draw observations using various senses. Observation topics include species, ecosystems, or overall environment. Session will end with a discussion about "what did this observation make you wonder?" All ages welcome, as long as participants are able to concentrate quietly for an extended period of time. Heavy rain cancels.
