National Public Lands Day: Lost Coast Stewardship Celebration

Friends of the Lost Coast and BLM King Range invite all for a day of service and fun on National Public Lands Day, Saturday, September 24. Meet 10 a.m. at Mal Coombs Park in Shelter Cove to break into groups for three project site locations. Mal Coombs Park projects will include removal of invasive species and work in the native plant gardens surrounding the lighthouse. Black Sands Beach projects will feature the installation of a new, community-made ocean safety sign and monument garden spruce-up. On Low Gap Trail in the King Range, volunteers will assist with repair of a small bridge. The day will culminate back at Mal Coombs Park with lunch for volunteers at 1 p.m. National Public Lands Day is the largest volunteer stewardship event of the year, with service projects happening throughout the U.S. Email info@lostcoast.org to RSVP and help in stewarding your King Range National Conservation Area.
