Mushroom Fair
Learn more about the fascinating fungi growing in our area by attending the Humboldt Bay Mycological Society’s 44th annual Mushroom Fair. There will be as many as 350 species displayed. Mushrooms are beautiful and colorful and the Fair is a great opportunity for photography. Other displays will feature edible and toxic fungi, lichens, mushrooms used for dyeing wool, and mushroom ecology. Mushroom cultivation kits, mushroom books, art, and T shirts will be for sale, and there will be educational presentations about fungi. The public is encouraged to bring mushrooms they would like to have identified.
