Love for Laurie: Celebration of Life and Benefit
Laurie Wainwright was a loving mom to her active 6 year old son Emmett, devoted wife of 10 years to her caring husband George, vibrant daughter to her parents Mac and Nancy, amazing friend to many, co-owner of Caravan of Dreams, and active member of her small town community. Laurie recently died after a courageous journey for life against a rare form of cancer known as peritoneal mesothelioma which affects the lining of the abdomen and is caused by the ingestion of asbestos fibers. This fundraiser will help the family with overwhelming medical expenses and will bring people together to demonstrate the support, love, and healing that surrounds her family during this difficult time. Laurie was vital to our community and we want to celebrate her life, light, and love. Gathering includes a locally produced dinner, silent and dutch auctions and music by the Compost Mountain Boys. Tickets can be purchased at Wildberries Marketplace and Caravan of Dreams in Arcata.
