Local Honey Tasting Fair
On Saturday, September 28, 2024, Humboldt County Beekeepers Association (HCBA) is having a one-of-a-kind honey-tasting event from 1-5 pm at North Coast Hitching Post at 2190 Table Bluff Rd. in Loleta,! Get your tickets early as space is limited and we need a head count for the caterer! Adult and vendor tickets are $25.00, ages 6-12 are $10.00, and under 5 is free. HCBA works hard to highlight the local beekeeping industry and to promote the agricultural health of the region. Donations and proceeds of the Honey Tasting Festival will help fund our educational programs throughout the coming year.
The event will be held at North Coast Hitching Post in a beautiful refurbished 1914 redwood barn on Table Bluff in Loleta overlooking the ocean (https://www.northcoasthitchingpost.com) and will be highlighted by a delicious Honey Tasting featuring a variety of local honeys produced in Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties, paired with breads, fruits, cheeses and other surprising accompaniments.
Tasting honey is an art, much like savoring wine, coffee, tea, or chocolate. It involves engaging all your senses to fully appreciate the complexity and nuance of each variety.
We will also have a Silent Auction and an exciting bee-themed (native bees AND honey bees!) Costume Contest; one for adults and one for children, as well as local vendors and catered finger foods! This includes admission and appetizers for one. Extra Vendor attendants must also purchase a ticket and be counted for the caterer.
