Two for the Road with Francis Vanek and Jim Wilde with special guest Joani Rose.
Francis and Jim have been playing music together for over three decades. Beginning with Magenta in the 80’s, through performing as a duo the past 4 years, they speak the same musical language. Joani adds her vocal stylings from the Great American Songbook to Stevie Wonder.
Francis Vanek is well known on the north coast as tenor sax master. He has performed in top venues all over the Bay Area as well as Jazz on the Lake, the Mendocino Music Festival, the Benbow Inn and live stream shows from the Arcata Playhouse.
Jim Wilde has been playing in Humboldt since the 80’s. He has played nearly every venue in the county as well as the Rites of Spring Jazz Festival, Jazz on the Lake, and the Summer Jazz Series at Benbow.
Joani Rose has been honing her jazz chops for over 15 years. A life spent in the theater arts, she has a long list of credits from Del Arte to Pure Schmint to directing Recycled Youth from the beginning. She has performed at many clubs, wineries and venues on the North Coast including the Sequoia Room at Northcoast Brewery.
