Poets Jerry Martien and Joanna Reichhold
Poet Jerry Martien is the author of a poetry collection, Pieces in Place, and more. His poems show a deep understanding of our region, land and people. Jerry has lived here since 1970, as a truck driver, night watchman, bookstore clerk, editor, doorman, and for thirty years a carpenter.. He is a member of Friends of Elk River and his reading will include a suite of poems about that watershed. Joanna Reichhold performs poems, original songs, and sea chanties, and lives in salmon country from Cordova to Arcata. She's done seven boat seasons as a deckhand on the Copper River Flats and Prince William Sound. Joanna has a book and short film, both titled SalmonsKin, and a couple of CDs. Two great local performers in a FREE venue!
