HSU Jazz Combos Concert
Please join the HSU Department of Music for a great evening of jazz featuring this semester's Jazz Combos on Saturday, November 4 at 8:00 p.m. in Fulkerson Recital Hall. The three combos include Liquid Pizza Party, featuring Jesse Garate on bari sax and piano, Blake Meisinger on guitar, Maceo Camphuis on bass, and Seth Mattingly on drums. They're playing "Ask Me Now" by Thelonious Monk, "Calligraphy" by Yussef Kamaal, "Night of the Squid" by Maceo Camphuis, and "Street Spirit" by Radiohead. The Ryan Call Experience is Rebekka Lopez on alto sax and flute, Mikel Mayorga on guitar and vocals, Ryan Call on bass, and Forrest Smith on drums. They're playing "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" by the Beatles, "Corcovado" by Antonio Carlos Jobim, and "Straight No Chaser" by Thelonious Monk. Paper People is Matt Wardynski on clarinet and soprano sax, Eric Tolfa on vibraphone, Loren Acosta on bass, and Jacob Partida on drums. They're playing "Baby Steps" by Andy Narell and "Dusk" by Loren Acosta. Saturday, November 4 at 8:00 p.m. in Fulkerson Recital Hall. $8 General, $5 Senior/Child, FREE for HSU students with ID.
