HSU Jazz Combos
Quintet Tarantino has a weird name (especially since there are four of them) and a normal combo instrumental array, but the Meantones have a unique all-reed lineup. Five Way Street (yes, there are four of them too) is a little unusual, with trombone, sax, bass and drums, and the Jazzmanian Devils, well they actually are a quintet. Four jazz combos with some locally well-known players, plus Kelsey Goldstein is guest vocalist with the Meantones and the Devils. Tunes run the jazz gamut from Cab Calloway and Stevie Wonder to Jessica Lurie, plus originals. One show only, starting early at 7 p.m.
