Hope in Harmony
The Partnership in Music Orchestra will perform a world premier of the new work, “To Live,” by conductor Garrick Woods. This work will serve as the focus of a collection of music that portrays human emotion ranging from peace and joy to despair with equal measures of threat and opportunity, tragedy and healing. The new work by Woods suggests to us that while life can be both painful and beautiful, we must choose every day: to live. The first of two free concerts, titled “Hope in Harmony,” will occur April 20 at 2 p.m., at the Eureka Woman’s Club, 1531 J Street, Eureka. On May 5 at 2 p.m., a second concert will be performed at Fulkerson Recital Hall on the campus of Cal Poly, Humboldt.
