Holiday Hat Making
Come in and learn how to create a festive hat for the holiday season! Join Amy Fowler, local hat maker and owner of Humboldt Haberdashery, as she teaches how to create your own unique fascinator hat using a variety of materials. By layering scraps of fabrics, ribbons, and other trims, we will spruce up a basic hat form into a wearable piece of art, suitable for all of your holiday parties. We will experiment with millinery materials such as sinamay, crinoline and birdcage netting. All materials will be provided, including a variety of hat bases to build upon, decorative fabrics, and trims. Depending on your creative detail, two hats should be able to be finished in a two-hour class. This workshop is best suited to participants 12+.
