Free Vision Screening

Arcata’s Play Center is fortunate to have the McKinleyville Lions Club visit on Monday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to provide a free vision screening service. Lions KidSight USA helps ensure that children between the ages of six months and six years receive vision screening and professional follow-up care when needed. Lions KidSight USA wants to reach kids early because some vision problems can become permanent by age seven. But vision issues can be easily detected with hand-held screening devices that even generate the results on-site. Parents/Caregivers are welcome to be screened as well. Visit http://www.e-clubhouse.org/sites/mckinleyville/page-9.php for more details. The City of Arcata Recreation Division, with funding from First 5 Humboldt, offers a safe and comfortable place for families to meet, share and play. Bring your newborns and children up to five years old to the D Street Neighborhood Center, 1301 D Street in Arcata. Arcata Play Center meets weekly on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (snacks are offered), this is a year-round program. The fee is a $3/day donation per child. Monthly rates are also available. Contact Arcata Recreation (707) 822-7091 or visit the website at www.cityofarcata.org/rec.
