Forestry Practices Hike with Sanctuary Forest
Join Sanctuary Forest on Saturday, August 13 for the Forestry Practices Hike. Held in the Root Creek watershed and led by representatives of Humboldt Redwood Company and Restoration Forestry, the hike will provide insight into the many decisions foresters make relative to sustainable timber production. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Humboldt Redwood Company main office in Scotia. The hike will provide an opportunity to view previously harvested areas by four-wheel drive vehicle, followed by a 1-2 hour moderate hike through more recently harvested areas. Bring a lunch and plenty of water, and dress in layers appropriate for cool or warm weather.
