Fall Storytelling with local Ali Freedlund
Humboldt Literacy Project and Humboldt County Library invite all ages to enjoy a fall themed Family Literacy Party at three libraries in November. Local author and storyteller Ali Freedlund will share stories about ‘possoms, friendship, and Lucy the Bear.
At the beginning we will have a craft making a family of opossums and at the end everyone gets to pick out a free book to keep. This event is free for children and the adults who love them.
Ali Freedlund’s original stories focus on the natural world of rivers, animals, tress, fish, and birds that are part of what we all share on the North Coast. She has lived here over 35 years and has performed her original stories at various local venues including the Storytelling Festival by the Sea, local schools, libraries, benefits, as a TedX presenter, and other special programs. Her book, Lucy the Bear, is available locally at Eureka Books!
There are three library visits for this Family Literacy Party:
Fri, Nov 10, 4 pm, Fortuna Library
Wed, Nov 15, 6 pm, Eureka Library
Fri, Nov 17, 3:30 pm, McKinleyville Library
