Exploring Eureka's Urban Interface Field Trip

Join Redwood Region Audubon Society leader Jim Clark for Exploring Eureka's Urban Interface. Sites to visit include the redwood/spruce forest, a historical farm and slough including recognizable family names, a unique barn, and non-native plant invasion. This walk will mostly be on streets and sidewalks with some excursions into the forest. Some recent logging about 30 years ago and original logging about 140 years ago will also be explored. Estimated time for this walk will be about three hours, depending on what the group wants to explore including mushrooms, orange-crowned warblers, and other denizens of the redwood/spruce forest/marsh interface. For reservations and meeting location, contact Jim Clark at clarkjimw@gmail.com.
