Dead On the Creek

Deadheads—Mark Your Calendars for Dead on the Creek Music and Camping
Festival at Black Oak Ranch in Laytonville, CA on August 16-18, 2024
Dead on the Creek Festival on August 16-18 embodies the themes of the
Grateful Dead… more precisely, the endeavors of Jerry Garcia. This intimate
music and camping event is at Black Oak Ranch in Laytonville, CA (Mendocino
County) in Northern California.
Music and history intertwine at the legendary Black Oak Ranch, affectionately
known as the Hog Farm. It is the stomping grounds of the iconic Wavy Gravy. In
the early ‘90s, this site echoed with the strums of Jerry Garcia and later
celebrated the famed Pignic. It has also been the proud host of the renowned
Kate Wolf Festival for over two decades.
Dead on the Creek had a 17-year run and then went on a five-year hiatus. This
year marks its return. The festival makes its grand debut at the Ranch, continuing
its legacy as an intimate musical gathering. Limited to just 500 lucky ticket
holders, the event promises an up-close-and-personal experience with every
performance. Imagine being so close to the stage that you can feel the passion
of the musicians, while enjoying minimal waits for amenities. Our location also
offers natural and constructed shade from the summer sun.
Included in the price are family-style meals, fostering a sense of community and
togetherness. The ingredients are sourced and fused creatively from our local
agrarian community.
The line-up includes Crying Uncle, Caltucky, Boot Juice, Never Come Down,
Jerry's Middle Finger, Elliott Peck & Friends, Broken Compass Bluegrass, Stu
Allen and more.
The music is a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Jerry Garcia. Relive the magic
through performances inspired by his collaborations, including the David Grisman
Sessions, Old & in the Way, The Jerry Garcia Band, and of course, the timeless
tunes of the Grateful Dead.
