Community Coastal Cleanup 9/23
Join Redwoods National and State Parks in celebrating National Public Lands Day with a coastal community cleanup! From 9am-1pm, we will be working side by side with park staff to remove trash from Freshwater Beach near the Kuchel Visitor Center in Orick, CA. Please wear close-toed shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks.
Meeting location:
Orick Beach Front
Freshwater Beach in Orick, CA.
Meeting time:
9:00am – 9:30am (Volunteer check-in and orientation)
9:30am - 1:00pm (Self-guided litter removal)
Requirements:
-Volunteers under the age of 18 need parent/guardian supervision.
-Wear clothes that can get dirty. Bring layers for changing weather and rain gear if necessary. Wear long pants to protect from ticks in the grassy areas of the beach.
-Bring a water bottle, snacks, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
-No experience necessary.
-A limited amount of litter pickers and buckets will be provided, if you have your own, please bring them. Gloves, trash bags, and high visibility vests will be provided.
