Coast Guard Open House
On August 22th between 11am and 2pm, guests will be able to tour the historical building and climb aboard rescue boats. Boat crews will be available to discuss their missions, general boating safety and how the Coast Guard renders assistance to mariners operating off the dangerous north coast of California. The Coast Guard Station Humboldt Bay is located at 200 New Navy Base Road in Samoa and has been located on the North Spit since the 1800s, providing assistance to the maritime community. On August 30th in Old Town Eureka, there will be a memorial service by Coast Guard personnel at the C Street dock at 11 AM with tours of vessels and water rescue demonstrations to follow.
