The Summitt will be hosting its next curated Cinema Club Screening with the recent 2024 film, Ghostlight directed by Kelly O'Sullivan and Alex Thompson.
Think ‘Book Club’, but with films (of course)! Join us every month, to participate in some particularly curated screenings and discussions at The Summitt with fellow Film enthusiasts, thinkers and ‘Letterboxd’ers.
Ghostlight is a 2024 American drama film, directed by Kelly O'Sullivan and Alex Thompson, about family, grief, and the power of art as communion. Construction worker Dan Mueller who is struggling with the disciplinary problems of his teenage daughter Daisy is also navigating the wrongful death lawsuit he is filing against Christine Hawthorne, the ex-girlfriend of his son Brian, who died by suicide. As Allisa Wikenson writes: The film is a gentle, emotional drama about a family struggling to stay together. It’s also about people trying to do right by themselves and finding profound connections with others and within themselves along the way.
