Child Safety Seat Free Distribution and Installation
Arcata Play Center received 40 child safety seats through the California Kids' Plates Safety Equipment Grant Program. These seats are distributed and installed by Certified Child Safety Technicians FREE of charge on Monday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the D St. Neighborhood Center, 1301 D Street. Visit Arcata Play Center, Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., to reserve a seat and installation time. First come. First served. Please consider your family's access to resources before reserving a seat to ensure that the child safety seats reach those families with the most need. Thank you to participating organizations: AAA Insurance, California Highway Patrol, Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Service and Humboldt County Emergency Medical Services. The City of Arcata Recreation Division, with funding from First 5 Humboldt, offers a safe and comfortable place for families to meet, share and play. Bring your newborns and children up to five years old to the D Street Neighborhood Center, 1301 D Street in Arcata. Arcata Play Center meets weekly on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (snacks are offered), this is a year-round program. The fee is a $3/day donation per child.
