Cecile McLorin Salvant
One of the most celebrated young vocalists in jazz, McLorin Salvant set the music world buzzing after winning the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocals Competition and a stand out appearance at the Monterey Jazz Festival. Just 24 years old, she possesses a phenomenal musical gift way beyond her years and is already drawing comparisons to vocal legends Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald. McLorin Salvant counts among her biggest fans Wynton Marsalis, who exclaims, “She has poise, elegance, soul, virtuosity, range, depth, and grace.”
